The HyperScout 2 hyperspectral imager is selected to fly on the high-profile Australian CubeSat mission Kanyini.
Kanyini is an Australian CubeSat mission that will support the research into crop health, forests, inland water and coasts, and will provide vital information on heat generators in South Australia. SASAT1 has selected the HyperScout 2 instrument as a compact imaging payload that gives much more information that a 3 band or multispectral camera. HyperScout 2 is a model of the HyperScout line of instruments, developed by cosine and partners with support from the European Space Agency and the Netherlands Space Office through ESA’s InCubed program, which also proudly announces this new international collaboration.
Marco Esposito, managing director of cosine Remote Sensing: “The HyperScout 2’s onboard processing power will give Kanyini the opportunity to utilise advanced AI algorithms directly in orbit. This ultimately reduced data traffic requirements and accelerates decision making for rapid-response scenarios.”
