cosine signs strategic partnership with Axient Systems to offer missions-as-a-service to the global space market

cosine Remote Sensing has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Axient Systems to deepen their collaboration within their Scalea Space offering, marking a significant step in reinforcing cosine’s leadership position in providing remote sensing solutions to space missions. The agreement further leverages the partnership on the PAMI-1 mission and solidifies cosine as the primary provider of hyperspectral, very high resolution and infrared Earth Observation imaging payloads and services, while accelerating the expansion of a fully integrated mission-as-a-service offering.

This strengthened partnership places cosine at the centre of the Scalea Space’s payload and mission engineering capabilities. As a preferred Earth observation payloads provider, the MoU formalises a collaboration model that enables cosine to extend its world-class payload expertise across mission engineering, system integration and operational delivery, ensuring customers benefit from seamless, end-to-end access to space.

cosine will complement the Scalea Space offering by providing off-the-shelf payload options, specialised integration support and co-development of next-generation payload concepts. Together, the partnership enhances the mission architecture for commercial and governmental customers across the world, combining robust payload innovation with comprehensive mission delivery capabilities.

Marco Esposito, Managing Director of cosine Remote Sensing, stated: “We are pleased to formalise this MoU with Axient Systems as part of their Scalea Space offering, strengthening our shared ambition to expand the reach and impact of the PAMI mission. This collaboration brings the mission-as-a-service vision to life, placing cosine’s payload mastery at the heart of fully integrated mission delivery.”

Jay Kovacs, Managing director of Axient Systems stated: “The addition of cosine as the preferred payload provider for commercial mission-as-a-service missions significantly enhances the Scalea Space initiative, reinforcing its best-in-class capabilities and delivering a fully integrated, market-leading proposition for the global Earth Observation sector.”

The MoU reinforces cosine’s long-term commitment to building a fully integrated European space-mission ecosystem, one in which cosine’s payload leadership continues to serve as the foundation for next-generation mission strategies.
